Gentle Visitor Text Template for New Parents

Set boundaries with love - without the awkwardness.

Navigating visitors in the early days postpartum can feel overwhelming - especially when you’re healing, bonding, and just trying to find your rhythm.

This free text message template makes it easier to communicate your needs with kindness and confidence. Whether it’s a well-meaning relative or an excited friend, you can copy, paste, and send this message without overthinking it.

Hey! Just a quick note before you visit us and baby.
We’re so excited to introduce you, but we’re also trying to keep things slow and calm while we recover and find our rhythm. A few gentle requests to help us ease into this new chapter:

• Please message first — we might be resting or feeding.
• Short visits (30–60 mins) are ideal right now.
• If you’re feeling unwell at all, we’d love to see you another time.
• Please wash your hands before holding baby.
• No pressure to bring anything — but if you feel like helping, a meal or quick tidy-up is always welcome.
• And if we say no to cuddles, advice, or anything else — thank you for understanding. We’re just listening to what we need each day.

Thanks for loving us through this messy, beautiful time.
We’re really looking forward to seeing you soon x
